Well, as part of my New Year's resolution, I've decided to keep a blog and try to update my stitching information and pictures more often! This is my first entry and I'm new to this blogging thing. I think this is a great place for me to keep a record of my stitching happenings and I can keep track of how long it takes me to get projects completed.
Stitching News..... I just started working on (December 29) Stoney Creek's Winter Wildlife Stocking for myself and I have about 7 hours into it so far - I would love to see this hung up near the Christmas Tree next year! I am about 1/2 way done with the black bear and almost finished with the moose on the right side of the stocking. I bought this pattern from patternsonline.com, and what really ticked me off about this pattern is that there are really similar symbols set all right next to each other, so here I am stitching away on the moose thinking that the 1/2 square symbols are all the same, NOPE, there is a dark brown color that the 1/2 square goes to the right on the symbol, and then a 1/2 square in 898, even darker brown, that goes to the left. Sheesh! I'm glad I caught it when I did because I would never think a company would use such similar symbols right next to each other. So go the trials and tribulations of stitching.........

Other Household News...... let's see, my husband traded his 2000 Yamaha 700 snowmobile for a 1996 Ski Doo Mach Z 809 snowmobile on the 20th, we are getting snow now after having 50 degree weather last week, and we are up to about 6 inches total since yesterday, for a season 2008-2009 total of over 85 inches ALREADY!!!
Isn't the new sled pretty with it's custom
flame paint job???
I wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year - keep on stitching and snowmobiling!
Love the blog and pics! Stitching looks great - does make you wonder why a designer doesn't use easy symbols to read, doesn't it? Love the new snowmobile!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to blogging, Merriwether :)
ReplyDeleteI hate the symbol problem! Glad you caught it in time. Happy snowmobiling......We've only got 1/2" or so on the ground after the rains over the weekend. I have to say I hope we don't get enough snow for anyone to use a snowmobile around here!

Wow, and I thought we had a lot of snow here in ND. I like the sled. Do you get to ride it at all? My brother has a Yamaha 700 (don't know the year) that I've taken out a few times, and it was a blast.
